ROLLER ROASTER

ANYWHERE FRESH COFFEE IS DESIRED.
The Roller Roaster is a low-temperature, hot-air coffee roaster which delivers an extremely consistent and accurate roast all the time. The Roller Roaster is the most professional small roaster available.
Retail Coffee Roasters use the Roller Roaster as a coffee shop roaster.
Large Coffee Roasters use the Roller Roaster as a sample coffee roaster and blend maker.
SWEETHEAT PROCESS The fluid effect of the Roller Roaster's Sweetheat Process enables the temperature of the coffee roasting air to be lower than in drum roasters.
Computer controls a built-in timer allow the heat to be shut off for a length of time at the beginning of the roast then gently change the temperature to the final roasting temperature. The aromas and flavors are not damaged by high heat shock.
TWO CHAMBERS mean accurate temperature measurement. The Roller Roaster has a unique two-chamber system to roast the coffee and measure the coffee's temperature. Most of the roasting air is used to elevate and circulate the beans on their roller roaster ride in the vertical chamber. In the roasting chamber is where the greater part of the heat transfer takes place. The beans then settle down through the heated settling chamber where the bean temperature is taken. As the beans gently drift down the coffee bean temperature can be measured extremely accurately. The coffee beans work their way down to the bottom of the temperature measurement chamber to fall in a controlled flow back into the air stream and continue on another roller roaster ride through the roasting chamber.
Temperature measurement and roast control are extremely accurate in the Roller Roaster because very little of the roasting air temperature is measured. Single chamber roasters have turbulent roasting air in the roasting chamber and the pseudo-bean temperature reading is far less accurate. That is, if there is a thermocouple device to even measure it. Most commercial roasters don't even measure the temperature, they assume it. The flaw in accuracy of a single chamber is due to the bean temperature being different than the roasting air temperature. Any measuring device in a single roasting chamber only gives the air temperature and not the bean temperature.
For REPRODUCIBLE RESULTS there is only ONE solution, the ROLLER ROASTER, the roasting machine with the BUILT-IN EXPERTISE.
EASE OF OPERATION: Feed the beans into the roaster. Set the drop temperature. After the alarm indicates the pseudo-bean temperature is below the drop temperature, press the ROAST BUTTON. That is all. Another alarm indicates that the roast is almost complete. When it is, the beans then discharge automatically into the cooler.
Your training time can be measure in minutes, not days or weeks. Once an operator has been trained, you can be fully confident that the results will be the same time and time again. If you own a shop, every employee will be able to roast the coffee after just a few minutes of training. Each person follows a temperature schedule showing the final roast temperature for all the different beans and each person roasts the coffee perfectly. No more worries about the trained roast master being unavailable.
FLEXIBILITY: Roller Roasters give you the capability to control the whole roasting process in a consistent, reproducible way because you are able to set the temperature of the roasting air, vary the temperature ramp and set the drop temperature precisely . . . and you are able to walk away after you have pressed the ROAST BUTTON! The roasters will automatically carry out your settings and discharge the beans at the precise moment they are roasted to your specifications. If you prefer a slow roast with an extra gentle heat, lower the roasting air temperature and extend the delay timer. You want the beans darker, increase the drop temperature.
RETAIL GOURMET COFFEE HOUSES: Roller Roasters are particularly suitable for retail shops where the emphasis is on selling excellent cups of coffee made from the freshest roasted coffee. The small models can easily handle whole-bean sales in excess of five hundred pounds per week. Your customers will enjoy seeing the beans roast and appreciate knowing that the coffee beans go straight from the roaster to the grinder to the brewer.
RETAIL COFFEE SHOPS: It is the same philosophy as in the retail gourmet coffee house, it doesn't get any fresher than watching it roast right there before the customer takes the roasted coffee beans home with them.
With a Roller Roaster in your arsenal of weapons, give yourself a
marketing advantage over your competition. The frequent roasting
of small amounts of green coffee will ensure that your most
demanding customers can have the freshest roasted coffee. Just like in serving two hot cups of coffee at the same time, the marketeer with the best equipment wins the business.
The newest model Roller Roaster can easily roast in excess of two thousand pounds per week in shops where the emphasis is on bean sales.
COFFEE PROFESSIONAL. Testing roasted samples before purchase.
The problem of coffee bean selection from samples is made more meaningful when the Roller Roaster is used. When comparing samples, it is imperative to taste the different coffees roasted at the same temperature to the same degree of roast. It is impossible to evaluate and compare two or more coffees which have been roasted to different degrees of roast in conventional sample roasters by eye. No way can the degree of roast be estimated to anything better than plus or minus two degrees of roast by eye. The Roller Roaster can roast to two significant figures on an Agtron meter for the degree of roast consistently.
The Roller Roaster is ideal for coffee brokers who wish to indicate to customers the potential of a particular roast by indicating a final roasting temperature for a particular coffee. The customers can emulate the roast by using a similar roasting profile. Green brokers can also take advantage of the Roller Roaster is to send perfectly roasted samples to prospective customers. This way the customer is assured of tasting what the brokers want them to taste. Too many times, novice coffee roasters can ruin green samples by overroasting them.
Making and matching blends.
Each coffee has a best roast which will vary with the characteristics that you determine in advance. With the Roller Roaster, you can easily test for the best result by roasting the same coffee with small temperature increments and comparing the results. Because of the accuracy of the temperature gauge and the fact that the roast finishes automatically when a preset pseudo-bean temperature is achieved, you will get the most meaningful results.
To match a blend, take an Agtron reading of degree of roast for the known sample. Select coffee beans which approximate the flavor and keep roasting, testing, and blending till you get it right. Match the degree of roast by selecting a temperature to match said degree of roast and increase or decrease one or other of the coffee beans degree of roast till the blend taste the same as the sample.
Roller Roasters are currently being used in the USA, Mexico, Singapore, Taiwan, Korea, New Zealand, Canada, Hungary, Belgium, and Australia and are scheduled soon to be introduced into the Philippines and Malaysia.
